Επιστημονική Φαντασία και άλλα ευτράπελα

Λοιπόν, μια και ρωτήθηκα, ναι, παραλίγο να γίνω barbeque. Και ναι θα σας κρατήσω λίγα παιδάκια να τα βουτήξετε στο ηλιέλαιο σας. Σοβαρά τώρα και η scribe είναι εδώ!

Για να γυρίσουμε στο θέμα μας, προσπαθώ να διαβάσω The Science Fiction Hall of Fame: Volume One, 1929-1964. Προσπαθώ αλλά ….

Σύμφωνα με το οπισθόφυλλο «Selected by a vote of the membership of the Science Fiction Writers of America (SFWA), these 26 reprints represent the best, most important, and most influential stories and authors in the field.».


Μπορεί να είναι έτσι, αλλά κάποια κείμενα δεν διαβάζονται. Δεν εννοώ μόνο λόγω της φαλλοκρατικής αντιμετώπισης των γυναικών (μανάδες και υπηρέτριες) και του ρατσισμού για το διαφορετικό, απλώς είναι γραφή κακής ποιότητας (poor writing). Οι ιδέες ενδιαφέρουσες αλλά η εκτέλεση, μπλιάχ!

Αυτά όμως που διαβάζονται γυαλίζουν σαν ψήγματα χρυσού στην παλάμη χρυσοθήρα. Προσκυνώ Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury. Πιθανότατα θα φτιάξω μια λίστα (κάποια στιγμή).

Και να θυμηθώ να γράψω για το Bradbury...
